ARTIST STATEMENT:

Along these silent waters, the abandoned dock and forgotten boats tell a quiet truth: what once stood strong now bends beneath the weight of time. Beauty fades, structures crumble, and the works we once gloried in slowly return to dust. Vanity builds for the moment, but purpose builds for eternity.

As the old wood decays and the still waters mirror their decline, we are reminded that earthly pride cannot anchor the soul. Only what is rooted in God endures beyond the passing tides.

‘Vanity of vanities,’ the Scripture says, ‘all is vanity’
A gentle warning and a call to seek what time cannot erode. For the Lord also reminds us: ‘Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust destroy… but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven’ (Matthew 6:19–20).”
