Theme: THE HOUSE THAT NURTURES
Key Scripture:
“How often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings.”
— Matthew 23:37 (KJV)
The House That Nurtures is a visual meditation on the sacred institution of family as designed by God. In this painting, the rooster and hen stand as symbols of leadership, protection, and nurture, while the chicks represent vulnerability, growth, and the next generation entrusted into loving care.
Scripture tells us, “As a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings” (Matthew 23:37, KJV). This imagery reflects God’s heart for family—a place of safety, instruction, and covering. As a Gospel painter, my calling is to interpret scripture through visual language. Many may hear the Word and forget, but what is seen often stays. Through this work, I invite viewers to reflect on their own families and rediscover God’s design for love, unity, and generational nurture.
